The experience of sharing food is definitely a big part of what our company Mistral Experiences is all about.
Spending the last 8 years with Franck and his family has taught me so much about how food not only nourishes our bodies but nourishes our soul.
Spending time preparing and sharing food with one another is a gift that we give ourselves in this fast paced world. It allows us to slow down, to connect, to put down the mobile devices and the media. We love to cook together and in cooking we find release from the stressors of the day, we re-connect and re-charge as a couple and as a family. In our home we laugh, we debate, and sometimes we even fight over meals (often lingering for an hour or two), but most importantly we all sit down together every evening. In a world where we go different directions most of the day those hours together have taught our children so much about us and us about them.
When Franck first brought me to his family home in Nice, I saw where that value came from in his life and I felt so inspired by this Mediterranean way of living, “slow food” and family values. Since then we have sought out ways to share this way of life with others and in our newly formed “slow travel” company, we are ready to share it now with you.
Slow travel experiences value food and where it comes from, how it’s made. It builds in time to connect, to savor and to build a sensory memory. So if you have a group of friends, family, colleagues that you feel would enjoy this type of experience please reach out to us and we would be happy to meet or speak with you about how we can develop an experience that is just right for you.
Or choose from one of our already developed travel experiences with more coming in the next few weeks.
